INTRO TO BLOCK PRINTING WORKSHOP

Class Date: Sunday, June 9th

Class Time: 12pm–3pm

This fun + beginner-friendly workshop will introduce you to the world of block printing!

This workshop will focus on carving techniques and printing flowers of various styles and sizes. Templates will be provided but you are also free to design your carving on your own! Block carving is a fun therapeutic method that once complete, you can use over and over again on different mediums (papers, shirts, & other textiles).

You’ll learn basic step-by-step instructions on how to decide on suitable artwork, best practices to transfer artwork onto the block, carving tips/tricks/techniques, and how to press the image properly onto paper.

During the last portion of the class, you'll have an opportunity to print on a variety of paper goods like cards, envelopes, and tags.

You'll leave this workshop with your very own handcarved block to continue stamping and printing at home!

 MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR: ANNABELLE M.

Annabelle is the artist and owner of Good AM, based in Austin, Texas.  Her work is inspired by nature, self-love, & a joie de vivre outlook on life. Annabelle is self taught & carved her first block in 2017, but didn’t fully dive into the therapeutic practice until 2022. She has extensive experience in interior design & all things home including textile design.  When she isn’t carving or printing, she enjoys spending time with her twin boys, finding vintage treasures, dipping in natural water, getting lost in music, & taking her time to cook.
